Today there are more types of combat sports shorts than ever – from vale tudo shorts to MMA shorts with a built-in compression layer. Each has its own advantages, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs and training style.

Vale tudo shorts look like short compression tights – elastic, stretchy and form-fitting. They minimise friction, give your opponent nothing to grab or pull, and allow full range of motion. Some people find them too tight, which is where the other types come in.
